SLOW COOKER HACKS

  • Preheat the slow cooker. Treat it like an oven and preheat it. The results will be much better.
  • Sounds redundant, but adding the right amount of food to your slow cooker is instrumental for a delicious meal. You’ll be surprised how many times people miss this one.
  • Layer it right. Dense veggies like carrots, parsnips and potatoes make for a nice base. The meat should come next, then the liquid. Closer to the end of your cooking time, you should put it the lighter veggies like broccoli or zucchini.
