General Privacy Policy

At Big Y, we understand your concern for privacy. As part of our effort to serve you better, we may gather relevant information which will only be used for internal company purposes. We may also send you, from time to time, information on upcoming events, special promotions, or free product samples. However, Big Y will not sell or rent any personally identifiable information to anyone else, including advertisers and direct mail companies or telemarketers.

Coupon Policy For Manufacturers', Internet & Digital Coupons

  • The purchase must meet the terms of the coupon.
  • Only one coupon is allowed per item.
  • Manufacturers' paper coupons with a face value less than 99¢ will be doubled.
  • Digital coupons, store coupons & those that state “Don’t Double” are not doubled.
  • Digital coupons & offers can be combined with manufacturers’ coupons.
  • "Free-item" coupons will not be doubled.
  • The value of a coupon or value when doubled, may not exceed the price of the item. If it does, the item is free.
  • Coupons cannot be accepted toward any item that is given 'FREE' based on our stores' advertised sale. For example, if an item is advertised as 'Buy 1 Get 1 Free,' and the customer selects two, they may only redeem one manufacturers' coupon.
  • Redemption of identical coupons is limited to 5 per customer per ad week.
  • Double coupon offer excludes coupons on tobacco products, alcohol, lottery tickets & other items prohibited by law.
  • We reserve the right to accept or reject any coupon.

Connecticut

  • In the event that a consumer commodity scans at an incorrect higher price, you will be given one item of that consumer commodity free of charge up to the value of $20.00, credit will be given for items of higher value.

Massachusetts

As required in 202 CMR 0.06(2) if there is a discrepancy between the advertised price, sticker price, scanner price, display price and checkout price on any grocery item the consumer pays the lowest price. In the case of food stores or food departments, if the checkout price or scanner price is not the lowest price or does not reflect a qualifying discount: the consumer:

  1. Shall not be charged for one unit of the grocery item, if the price is $10 or less;
  2. if the lowest price is more than $10 the consumer shall be charged the lowest price less $10 for one unit of the grocery item,
  3. and shall be charged the lowest price for any additional units of the same grocery item purchased.

CURRENT STORE PRICE LIST CAN BE FOUND AT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DESK. 202 CMR 0.06(2) MUST BE POSTED AT EACH CHECK OUT REGISTER.

General Refund Policy

  • All merchandise* is sold with 100% Satisfaction guaranteed.
  • If you are not completely satisfied, return product* with receipt for a full refund.
  • Returns totalling greater than $10.00 will require the approval of the Manager-In-Charge.
  • Please note: There will be no returns, refunds or exchanges allowed on infant formula or gift cards.
  • Without a receipt, we will gladly issue a credit for the lowest selling price from the past six months.

Advertising Policies

  • Artwork is for display purposes only and does not necessarily reflect the items on sale.
  • Not responsible for typographical errors.
  • In fairness to our customers, we reserve the right to limit sales of any item offered for sale.
  • Not available in case lots or to other dealers or wholesalers.
  • Some items in the flyer not available in all stores.

General Online Contest Rules

You must fill in all required fields of the entry with valid, truthful information.

Big Y reserves the right to post winner's first name along with the town and state in which they reside, and a picture (only if provided by winner).

Big Y shall have no responsibility for lost, late or misdirected entries or for problems or technical malfunctions of the computer system.

Contest is open to Big Y® Silver Savings Club® card holders only. If you do not have a Big Y Silver Savings Club card, you may apply for a Free card at the Customer Service Desk.

Contestant must be 18 years or older to enter, with the exception of contests specifically asking for under 18 years of age entries with parental permission.

Winners will be notified via email as soon as possible after verification.

All taxes on prizes are the responsibility of the winner.

Contest is void where prohibited by law. No purchase is necessary.

All contact information provided on our website will be subject to the privacy policy.

Big Y is in no way responsible for the actions of its users or other third parties, and shall not be held responsible or liable for any content transmitted, uploaded, posted or created by one of its users or other third party.

Changes:

Big Y shall have the right at any time to change, modify or delete any or all terms and conditions of this Agreement, or to impose new conditions or terms. Notice of any such changes, modifications, deletions or additions will be posted on bigy.com. Any use by a user after such notice shall constitute an acceptance by the user of such changes, modifications, additions or deletions. Big Y shall also have the right to change, modify, suspend, discontinue or restrict the use of any portion or the entirety of bigy.com at any time, for any reason or for no reason at all, and without notice or liability.

Check Cashing Policies

Big Y accepts checks for purchases, not to exceed five checks per week, two checks per day.

New Customers:

Exact amount up to $250.00. No payroll checks or checks for cash back will be accepted on a New Customer card. You will receive standard check cashing benefits 30 days after cashing your first personal check.

Fees:

50¢ Check Cashing fee (free with $5.00 minimum purchase or exact amount of purchase). A $20.00 fee for all returned checks.

Sorry, We cannot cash the following:

  • Pre-dated checks
  • Insurance drafts
  • Checks without an account number
  • Altered checks
