- Wash hands with soap and water.
- Rinse all fresh produce items under cold running water prior to prepping.
- In a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, add oil. Once hot, add peppers, onion, basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring frequently, for 6 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender. Add sausage to skillet and cook for 5 minutes or until sausage reaches an internal cooking temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit as verified with an instant-read food thermometer.
- Serve sausages in hoagie rolls topped with peppers and onion.
