Directions

Note: Wash hands with soap and water.
1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons butter. Add pears and sprinkle with lemon juice. Cook, stirring gently, for 6-8 minutes or until pears are tender; remove from heat and keep warm.
2. In a shallow baking dish, arrange bread slices in a single layer.
3. In a large bowl, combine eggs, half-and-half, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar; whisk until blended. Pour mixture over bread slices and let stand for 1-2 minutes so bread can absorb some of the liquid. Turn slices over and let bread stand for 1-2 minutes more.
4. In a large skillet over medium-low heat, melt 2 tablespoons butter. Place however many slices of bread fit into pan and cook for 3 minutes per side or until golden brown. Melt more butter in skillet and continue cooking remaining bread slices. Serve with maple syrup and top with pears and blueberries.
