1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2: Wash hands with soap and water.
3: In a large bowl, combine peaches, ¼ cup sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, 2 tablespoons pancake mix and maple syrup; mix well.
4: Spoon fruit mixture into a 9-inch square glass baking dish; set aside.
5: In a medium bowl, combine remaining pancake mix and 2 tablespoons sugar. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Add water and stir to make a soft dough. Spoon over filling and sprinkle with remaining 2 tablespoons sugar.
6: Place baking dish on a foil-lined cookie sheet and bake for 50 minutes or until filling is bubbly and top is nicely browned.
7: Top with whipped or ice cream before serving.
