Marinated Fresh Mozzarella
Directions1. Wash hands with soap and water.
2. Rinse all fresh produce items under cold running water.
3. In a small saucepan over low heat, warm olive oil slightly. Add black pepper, red pepper flakes, garlic and oregano. Let simmer for 5 minutes to allow flavors to blend; remove from heat and let cool. Add salt and stir.
4. Place mozzarella slices in a shallow pan and pour seasoned oil over top. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for minimum 2 hours.
5. Arrange mozzarella slices and tomato slices on a plate; season to taste with additional salt and pepper and garnish with basil leaves before serving.
