1. Wash hands with soap and water.
2. In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, add preserves; heat for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon.
3. Add water to the pan and stir constantly, simmering over low heat, until the preserves begin to break down and the sauce develops a thinner, pourable consistency.
4. Add honey and cook for 3 minutes, stirring often. Remove from heat and let cool.
