1. Wash hands with soap and water.

2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine hoisin sauce, vinegar, ketchup, mustard, honey, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, cumin and salt and pepper to taste. Cook, whisking constantly, for 10 minutes or until thickened.

3. Reserve 1/2 cup for serving with cooked meat and use remaining for basting while cooking.
