Ingredients
Directions
1. Wash hands with soap and water.
2. Rinse fresh produce.
3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
4. Place chopped pears in a medium-sized bowl and add lemon juice, maple syrup, 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger and a pinch of salt. Set aside.
5. In another bowl, add oats, brown sugar, flour, remaining ginger, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Pour melted butter over top and stir to mix all ingredients together.
6. Butter an 8x8-inch baking dish or 4 individual ramekins. Pour pear filling into the bottom and evenly spread oat topping on top.
7. Bake for 25-35 minutes, checking for doneness at 25 minutes. The crisp is done when the fruit is bubbling and the topping is light brown in the center. If desired, brown the top by broiling on low for 3 minutes.
