Blackberry Lemon Scones

Note: Wash hands with soap and water.
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together both flours, sugar, baking powder, salt and lemon zest. Add butter and mix using a pastry blender or two forks until mixture resembles coarse meal; set aside.
4. In a small bowl, whisk together cream, egg and vanilla. Drizzle over flour mixture and mix until dry ingredients are moistened; slowly and gently fold in the blackberries. Dough will be wet.
5. Work dough into a ball with floured hands and transfer to a floured surface.
6. Press into an 8-inch disc and cut into 8 equal wedges with a very sharp knife.
7. Place scones 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until lightly golden and cooked through; let cool.
8. In a small bowl using an electric mixer on low speed, combine melted butter, lemon juice and milk.
9. Sift powdered sugar over top and beat on medium speed until smooth and creamy adding a little more milk if necessary until the mixture is of a thin consistency.
10. Drizzle over cooled scones and serve with a piping hot cup of New England Coffee.
