10 uncooked brats

1 large onion, cut in half and sliced

2 Tbsp. Big Y salted butter

2 Tbsp. Big Y pure Vermont maple syrup

1 tsp. red pepper flakes

1 tsp. Big Y garlic powder

-sea salt and fresh ground pepper to taste

4 12-oz. bottles brown ale beer

-Big Y no-stick cooking spray

10 hot dog rolls

DIRECTIONS

1. Place brats in a large pot. Add onion, butter, maple syrup, red pepper flakes, garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste. Pour beer over top and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove brats from beer mixture with tongs; reduce heat to low, and cook onions for 20 minutes; drain and keep warm. 2. Coat grill grate with cooking spray and preheat to medium-high heat. Score brats by making 4-5 cuts down the length of the brats, making sure not to cut all the way through. Place brats on grill and cook, turning once, for 7 minutes or until cooked through. Serve on rolls with onion mixture as a topping or side.
