1½ cups Food Club unsalted butter, softened
2 cups Food Club sugar
4 Big Y large eggs
1½ teaspoon Big Y vanilla extract
5 cups Food Club all-purpose flour, sifted
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon Food Club salt
2 cups strawberry jelly
Step 1: Wash hands with soap and water.
Step 2: In a large bowl, using an electric mixer on medium speed, cream together butter and sugar until smooth; beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Wash hands after handling raw flour and eggs. Cover and chill dough for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Step 3: Preheat oven to 400°F.
Step 4: Roll out dough onto a lightly floured surface to ¼- to ½-inch thickness. If dough is too sticky, add some additional flour, a little at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
Step 5: Cut cookies using a 2-inch star cookie cutter. On half of the stars, cut out the center using a 1-inch star cookie cutter. Place cookies 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets and bake for 6-8 minutes; let cool.
Step 6: Spread a little strawberry jelly on uncut star cookie, place cut star cookie over top and press to secure.
