Big Y has a long history of collaborating with community agencies that support the growth and development of people of varying ages, income levels, and abilities.
Group Problem Solving
Group Problem Solving (GPS) teams are small groups of employees who voluntarily and regularly meet on company time to identify, analyze, and solve work related problems. This allows employees to use their front line experience to have a voice in bringing about change.

Building Firm Foundations
Building Firm Foundations with Big Y's Helping Hands (BFF) is a program where Big Y employees volunteer their time and skills to work together on a basic home improvement project for a fellow Big Y employee experiencing a hardship.
Big Y employees may elect to make weekly contributions to a Friendship Fund that helps co-workers in their location who are in need of financial assistance due to an unexpected hardship.
Big Y Community Campaign
One of our goals as a company is to improve the lives of the people who live in and around our communities. Each year Big Y Foods holds its annual "Big Y Community Campaign (BYCC)". The Campaign provides an opportunity for employees to donate to a charity of their choice though a weekly payroll deduction.
Big Y Employees Sharing Time (B.E.S.T.) and Employee Community Service Days
Big Y has two programs that encourage and recognize our employees involvement in their communities. These programs provide groups of employees' the opportunity to volunteer their time to give back to their communities. The satisfaction and pride that comes from helping others in our neighborhoods is what makes our employees World Class.
