Big Y Celebrates in Manchester, CT
SPRINGFIELD, MA - (November 8, 2019)
Big Y Foods, Inc. is celebrating the opening of its newest Big Y Express Gas Station and Convenience Store in front of their newly remodeled Big Y World Class Market located at 234 Tolland Turnpike in Manchester, CT. This is the 10th Big Y Express location. Big Y opened their first location in 2013.
The 2,575 square foot Big Y Express location contains 10 pumping positions with 87, 89, and 93 octane fuel and diesel. A free air machine is available for tire inflation. Additional amenities include fresh muffins and donuts, fresh grab-and-go sandwiches and salads, indoor and outdoor seating, and free Wi-Fi.
Big Y’s Silver Savings Club members receive 5 cents per gallon discount with their membership cards every day. Additionally, customers will receive fuel rewards when they buy groceries from any Big Y. Fuel rewards are loaded electronically to the customers’ Silver Savings Club card and can be scanned and applied at each pump.
The fuel station will be open from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM seven days a week, 365 days a year.
The supermarket renovation effort began in July, and included major renovations in many areas of the 64,260 square foot store with various new additions in response to changing customer needs.
Customers looking for a meal to take home or enjoy in the store’s comfortable café area will find several new options such as made-to-order panini sandwiches, hand tossed pizza, chicken wings and appetizers, 5 varieties of soup daily, a salad bar, expanded varieties of international and local cheeses, charcuterie, and accompaniments, fresh pastries, and up to 8 varieties of Big Y Artisan breads.

At 12:30 pm on Friday, November 8th, Manchester Big Y Express will be celebrating its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Also, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, the Manchester supermarket will be hosting a "Customer Appreciation" event featuring free samples and more.
Big Y in Manchester originally opened in 1996. The store is open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM every day.
