Banana Caramel Doughnut Sundaes

Note: Wash hands with soap and water.
1. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, add brown sugar, heavy cream, water and salt; using a spatula, mix to combine. Add butter and cook, allowing butter to melt completely and the mixture to reach a rolling boil. Continue to cook for 5 to 7 minutes or until sauce thickens; remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
2. Allow to cool for 5 minutes. Sauce may harden as it stands. To soften, place in microwave on high for 35 seconds and stir.
3. To assemble, place doughnuts in middle of serving dish. Top each with a scoop of ice cream, banana slices, caramel sauce and pecans and serve immediately.
