1. Wash hands with soap and water.

2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper; set aside.

3. In a large bowl, combine both flours, wheat germ, oats, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. Wash hands after handling raw flour.

4. In a large bowl using an electric mixer on medium speed, cream together butter, brown sugar and vanilla. Add egg and mix until combined. Wash hands after handling raw egg.

5. Reduce speed to low, slowly add flour mixture and mix until just combined; fold in cranberries and pistachios.

6. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto prepared sheets and flatten slightly with the back of a spoon. Wash hands after handling raw dough.

7. Bake for 10 minutes or just until firm. Remove and cool on wire racks.
