Big Y Foods, Inc. is one of the largest independently owned supermarket chains in New England. Big Y in Search of Local Products for New Location in Westport, CT

WESTPORT, CT (September 20, 2024) – Calling all local farmers, vendors and artisans. Big Y’s “Local Vendor Discovery Tour” is underway for the new supermarket in Westport, CT. The online tour gives Big Y’s sales teams the opportunity to learn more about local offerings that can be sold in-store.

As a proud supporter of local, they are looking to make new partnerships with vendors in and around Fairfield County. The location will be the first Big Y in southwest Connecticut and is slated to open in the fall. Known for high-quality products, top-notch customer service and family values, Big Y has recently extended their footprint further into the Nutmeg state. This summer, the company opened new stores in Brookfield and Middletown, CT.

According to Big Y’s president and CEO, Michael P. D’Amour, “Our team is looking forward to learning about the Westport area and becoming a part of the community. One way we do that is by partnering with local farms, businesses and artisans to showcase the products that are unique to the region.”

Big Y partners with over 500 local businesses who provide over 4,000 individual local products. These items can be found across every department in their stores. They include products such as:
