Birds Eye Baby Sweet Peas Recall

October 2, 2017

Information

Pinnacle Foods Inc. is recalling “Best By” dates of July 5, 2019 and July 6, 2019 Birds Eye Baby Sweet Peas (13 oz. package), because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

No illnesses have been reported. The potential for contamination was uncovered as the result of a single routine sample taken at retail which tested positive.

If you have any of the products listed below, they should be thrown away or returned to your local Big Y for a full refund.
