Proud to be family owned and operated, we operate almost 80 stores throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts with over 11,000 employees. Big Y has been named a 2015 Employer of Choice by the Employers Association of the Northeast. Founded in 1936 by brothers Paul and Gerald D'Amour, the store was named after an intersection in Chicopee, Massachusetts where two roads converge to form a "Y".

Christian P. D'Amour heads Table & Vine Division
SPRINGFIELD, MA (May 11, 2018)
Big Y Foods, Inc. has announced the appointment of Christian P. D'Amour as senior manager of their Table & Vine division. Table & Vine is a destination for fine wine, local beer, craft spirits, gourmet foods and more and a subsidiary of Big Y. In his role, D'Amour will be responsible for this division's sales, marketing and operations. His responsibilities include the flagship location in West Springfield, MA as well as the 7 in store locations within Massachusetts Big Y World Class Markets and the beer category in all Connecticut stores.
D'Amour began his career at Big Y at the age of 14 as a service clerk in their Longmeadow, MA supermarket. After graduating from college, he worked as a sales and marketing representative for an insurance company based in Providence, RI from 2011-2014 until re-joining Big Y in their store director training program. By 2015, he was appointed assistant store director in their Wilbraham World Class Market and later that same year, he served as store director in their Southampton store. He was also store director at the Wilbraham until 2017 when he assumed the role of store manager at the flagship Table & Vine store. He is the son of Charles L. D'Amour, Big Y president and COO and the grandson of Big Y co-founder, Gerald E. D'Amour.
D'Amour holds a BA from St. Michael's College in Vermont and spent a semester studying at The National University of Ireland in Galway.
He and his wife, Olivia, have two children and reside in Massachusetts.
