Big Y Express Expands
SPRINGFIELD, MA (March 21, 2018)
Big Y Foods, Inc. is pleased to announce its newest Big Y Express Gas and Convenience Store located at 471 Cooley Street in Springfield, MA opening by mid May of this year.
The site is currently operating as Ultra Gasoline and all Ultra employees are encouraged to apply for a position with Big Y. By Mid April, Big Y will be conducting interviews for a total of 6 full/part time positions. Interviews will be conducted at Big Y World Class Market at 300 Cooley Street. Training for new store employees begins with an orientation filled with integrative discussion and videos about customer relations, and Big Y Express policies and procedures. Then new employees participate in comprehensive customer service training, safety and food sanitation training, and finally, the technical training required for their position. This training is enhanced with a state-of-the-art, computer-based learning management system, Big Y's Learning Hub.
This location will contain 8 gas pumps with 87, 89, and 93 octane fuel at every dispenser. Free air machines will be available for tire inflation at all times. Inside the store, selections will include donuts, pastries, and fresh “instore baked” muffins, Green Mountain Coffees, fresh fruits, gourmet over- stuffed sandwiches and salads, milk, bread, numerous other cold beverages, candy, snacks, tobacco products, lottery, and ice.
Big Y's Silver Savings Club members receive 5 cents per gallon discount with their membership cards every day. The store will be open from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM seven days a week, 365 days a year.

This will be the seventh Big Y Express location; the other six Massachusetts stores can be found in Lee, Pittsfield, Hadley, Longmeadow, Wilbraham, and South Hadley. Big Y opened their first location in 2013 in Lee.
