Big Y At Fresh Acres Is Launched

Big Y at Fresh Acres

SPRINGFIELD, MA [December 21, 2021] – Renovations are finally complete for the new Big Y at Fresh Acres located at 1941 Wilbraham Rd in Springfield.

Since its opening in 2006, Fresh Acres served as a testing site for new and innovative concepts for the entire Big Y supermarket chain. This unique location pioneered a strong focus on local and artisan providers, sourced a proliferation of cheeses from around the world, tested distinctive offerings such as stone pies, dry aged beef, and an open air produce market and emphasized the value of fresh meals to go.

As customer needs have evolved over time, Big Y listened and recognized that customers were asking for change. People were looking for a more complete shopping trip with all of the savings they have come to expect from Big Y to be available within this location. So, eight months ago, Big Y embarked on yet another new format for this store while preserving the same small neighborhood market feel that makes this location so special. Customers will still find the same made to order stone pies, specialty sandwiches and salads and local products along with extra savings such as myBigY offers and digital coupons. Additional services such as the ability to earn gas savings to be used at Big Y Express stations and the option to utilize the MyPicks online shopping feature with curbside pickup in this location are also now available.

All employees maintained their jobs throughout this transformation and they look forward to remaining the trusted local market serving the sixteen acres community.
