Ingredients

Directions

1. Wash hands with soap and water.

2. Rinse fresh produce.

3. In a large skillet over medium heat, combine onion, garlic and whiskey. Simmer for 10 minutes or until onion is translucent. Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, molasses, vinegar, liquid smoke, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, hot sauce, salt and pepper; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove from heat; reserve half for later use.

4. Place ribs in a large pot or Dutch oven filled with salted water; bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Wash hands after handling raw pork. Reduce heat to medium, cover and cook for 15 minutes or until ribs are just tender, drain well.

5. Coat grill grate with cooking spray and preheat to medium. Place ribs on grill and grill until internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit as verified with an instant-read thermometer, about 20 minutes. Baste generously with sauce during the last 10 minutes of grill time. Remove from grill, tent with foil and let sit for 3 minutes. Serve ribs with reserved sauce.
