Delicious and light, this cake has a delicate apple butter and cinnamon flavor. the center layer is very moist; filled with the fresh apples and tangy apple butter. Use egg whites to make it lighter and more "heart healthy". The graham topping is just a hint for added depth and flavor.
1 Box Betty Crocker Pound Cake Mix
4 Egg Whites
1 Tbsp Cinnamon
3/4 Cup Apple Butter
2 Large Apples-peeled and diced
1/2 Cup Graham Cracker Crumbs (make your own)
In a large bowl, mix cake mix, 1/2 cup apple butter, 4 egg whites and cinnamon. Beat at medium speed for 3 minutes.
Spread 1/2 of the mix in the bottom of a prepared square baking pan. Sprinkle with diced apples and dot with remaining apple butter. Top with the rest of the batter. Sprinkle graham crackers on the top of batter and bake at 350 for 45 minutes (or until toothpick comes out clean batter).
