Description:

Ingredients:

1 1⁄2 cups Big Y unsalted butter, softened
2 cups Big Y sugar
4 Big Y eggs
1 1⁄2 tsp. Big Y vanilla extract
5 cups Big Y all-purpose flour, sifted
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. Big Y salt

Instructions:

In a large bowl, using an electric mixer on medium speed, cream together butter and sugar until smooth; beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Cover and chill dough for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Roll out dough onto a lightly floured surface to 1⁄8- to 1⁄4-inch thickness. If dough is too sticky, add more flour, a little at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters. Place cookies 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets and bake for 6 to 8 minutes. Cool completely on a wire rack before decorating.
