Little Y Kids Club® Rules of Operation

To ensure the safety of the children in our care and your peace of mind, the following rules of operation will be enforced at all times:

  1. Based on availability, all children between the ages of 3 and 9, in good health will be admitted to the Little Y Kids Club, regardless of their race, religion, or physical limitations.
  2. Children must be dropped off and picked up by the same parent or guardian. There are NO EXCEPTIONS.
  3. Parent/guardian and child must wear identification bracelets provided by Big Y® at all times while using the Little Y Kids Club.
  4. Per State Statutes, the parent/guardian MUST remain on Big Y premises and listen to in-store announcements during the time their child is at the Little Y Kids Club. Any person leaving the premises will lose the privilege of using the Little Y Kids Club.
  5. The parent/guardian who drops children off at the Little Y Kids Club will be issued a beeper through which they can be contacted by the staff if necessary. Beepers should be turned in when child is picked up from the Club.
  6. Children are permitted to stay at the Little Y Kids Club for a maximum of two (2) hours.
  7. The parent/guardian is encouraged to bring their child to the restroom before entering the Little Y Kids Club. If a child needs to use the restroom while at the Little Y Kids Club, the parent will be notified using their assigned beeper system or in-store intercom system. Little Y Kids Club staff are not permitted to accompany a child to the restroom.
  8. The Little Y Kids Club capacity is limited to twenty (20) children. We are required by law to deny access to the area when it reaches capacity.
  9. Children will not be permitted to enter the Little Y Kids Club if they are ill or show signs of any communicable diseases or conditions. The decision to admit a child is at the sole discretion of the Little Y Kids Club staff. Diseases or conditions that exclude children from the Little Y Kids Club include, but are not limited to:
    chicken pox, diphtheria, gastroenteritis, head lice, hepatitis (Type A), impetigo, influenza, measles, German measles, meningitis (bacterial and viral), mumps, pink eye, polio, ringworm, salmonellosis, scabies, shigellosis, strep throat, scarlet fever, TB, and whooping cough.
  10. The Little Y Kids Club staff is not authorized to administer any prescription or non-prescription medication.
  11. All participating children must wear a name tag issued by the Little Y Kids Club.
  12. The parent/guardian is responsible for the behavior of their child. Uncontrollable behavior will not be tolerated. If a child behaves improperly, the parent/guardian will be called to the Little Y Kids Club to remove their child. Little Y Kids Club staff do not have the authority to reprimand or use any form of punishment. Uncontrollable behavior may lead to loss of Little Y privileges.
  13. No personal toys, food, or drink are allowed in the Little Y Kids Club. Big Y is not responsible for any lost or stolen articles.
  14. In the event an emergency evacuation of the store becomes necessary, children will be escorted to a secure area outside of the premises. The parent/guardian is encouraged to accompany the children out of the store, at which time normal pick-up procedures can be followed. Our primary concern in such emergency situations is the safety and accountability of each child at all times.
  15. Failure to follow the Rules of Operation may lead to the loss of Little Y privileges.
