One week and counting!

In exactly one week, I am scheduled to run my first 5K at the WAMDA Road Race! I am very excited, but a little nervous. Since I've only been practicing inside on a treadmill, I'm not sure how easy it will be transitioning to outdoor running.

Thankfully, my best friend (who is also a new runner!) will be running with me. For my final week of training, my goal is to practice running outside at least once, so I can get a feel for it. I hope to bring her with me, so I can see how we run together!

Even if we aren't able to run the entire race, and alternate running and walking instead, I feel like this will be a huge accomplishment for me regardless. It has felt great striving to accomplish something new. Whatever I am able to do this time will help me set my goal for my next 5K (because there will be another!) - whether it's finishing with a faster time or being able to run the whole race.

My reward for completing my first 5K? A vacation!
