More About Carrie

Carrie

Carrie began her career as a nutritionist for Virginia Tech’s Center for Research in Health Behavior in Blacksburg, VA. Working as nutritionist, personal trainer and co-author, Carrie aided researchers in testing an innovative weight management study for adults.

From 2003-2005, she served as lead Nutrition Educator for the University of Massachusetts Extension Food Stamp Nutrition program in Fall River, MA where she designed and taught nutrition education for low-income preschoolers, 2nd and 3rd graders, as well as their families.

Carrie obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree from Virginia Tech where she majored in both Exercise Science and Dietetics. She also completed her American Dietetic Association internship with Virginia Tech.

Carrie is currently certified as an Aerobic Instructor through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), registered as a Dietitian through the American Dietetic Association and is a licensed dietitian for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She is a 2009 Go Red! “Leading Lady” for the Greater Springfield American Heart Association and serves on the board for both the Massachusetts Dietetic Association and Western Massachusetts Area Dietetic Association.

In her personal pursuit to live well and eat smart, Carrie enjoys cooking tasty, nutritious meals and staying active by hiking, running, skiing and triathlon training.

More About Andrea

Andrea

Andrea began her career with an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Holyoke Community College. From there she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She has completed the University’s Dietetic Internship and gained valuable experience working with WestMass ElderCare, Inc., Mercy Medical Center and the Hampden-Wilbraham School District. She is registered as a Dietitian through the American Dietetic Association and is a member of the Massachusetts Dietetic Association.

Andrea has also worked as Research Assistant for Baystate Health in Springfield, MA looking at the effectiveness of Maudsley Therapy for treating eating disorders in the pediatric population.

During her free time, Andrea enjoys biking, kayaking and hiking. She also has a love for cooking, and is interested in pursuing further culinary training in the future.
