Do you love cheese? This Friday Big Y is sampling Mezzaluna Gorgonzola and Gran Cru Gruyere! Gorgonzola is a veined Italian blue cheese, made from unskimmed cow's and/or goat's milk. It can be buttery or firm, crumbly and quite salty, with a 'bite' from its blue veining. It is best served at room temperature on top of salads, with fruts and nuts, or on top of chicken or steaks.
Gruyere is in the family of Swiss cheeses. Gruyere is a creamy, pale cheese with small holes and a slightly granular texture. The flavor is rich and somewhat nutty. Its distinctive but not overpowering flavor makes it perfect for quiches, soups, salads, and pastas. Also, enjoy it with crackers, fruit, french onion soup, and meat!

The meatballs are made from 100% beef, whole fresh eggs, Romano cheese, onion, parsley, a pinch of salt and pepper, and bread crumbs. They are formed by hand and lightly browned. They are placed in the Sunday sauce which is pure Italian plum tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, some salt and pepper and a bay leaf and slowly cook!
