- What if my school doesn’t appear on the list?
Call the toll free number at 1-800-599-9017 or email questions@bigyeducationexpress.com. You will need to provide your name and phone number as well as the school’s name, city and state that you would like to participate in the program. Please note that the principal’s permission is required for the school to join and you will be notified of their participation status.
- What if I want to participate but I don’t have an Express Savings Club® card?
Click here to print out the application, fill it out and bring it into any Big Y World Class Market or stop by and fill out the application located at the Customer Service Desk at any Big Y location.
- I don’t have children or grandchildren in area schools, can I still participate?
Absolutely. Just select any area school to receive your points. You’ll be helping area children, teachers and your community.
- Can I help a school if they are not located near my local Big Y but are near a Big Y store?
Yes. Just select your school of choice to receive your points.
- What if my address is wrong or has changed?
If your address has changed, please go to the Customer Service Desk at any Big Y World Class Market and they will be able to make the change for you.
- How do I change the school of my choice even though I am already signed up for the program?
Changing your school is easy. Simply fill out and submit the Education Express sign-up form and your points earned from that time on will now go to the new school.
- I have children that attend different schools. Can I divide my points between multiple schools?
No. We suggest that you sign up for one school now and change halfway through the program so that you can help each school.
- If I was already signed up in past years, do I need to sign up again this year?
Yes. The program requires you to re-sign up, even if your information or your designated school’s information has not changed.
- Can I find out how many points I have earned for my school?
You can track your points by keeping your receipts and tallying your total points earned per shopping trip.
- How do I find out how many points my school has earned?
Schools receive point updates bi-weekly and will send correspondence home with students about the school’s Education Express Program. Or, you can call the hotline to get an updated total at 1-800-599-9017.
- How do I access the Education Express Web site?
The Web site is for schools only. If you are a faculty member at a school, please ask your school coordinator for the “all access” password allowing you to review the catalog. If you are not sure who your coordinator is, call the hotline at 1-800-599-9017. If you are the coordinator/principal at your school, you need to call the hotline at 1-800-599-9017 in order to establish a password allowing you to place orders. - How long will it take for my card to link to the school I choose once I drop off my filled out form or enter the information online?
Within 24 hours.
- How do I know which products are part of the program to help my school earn points?
Each product that qualifies for the program will have an Education Express school bus sign next to it. There are many products throughout the entire store that qualify for the program. They are typically the sale items and change on a weekly to monthly basis. Each product earns between 50 and 100 points each. You can also find a listing of products in our weekly circulars, online at www.bigy.com and our monthly magazines.

Any accredited, nonprofit public, private or parochial school, kindergarten through high school, is eligible to participate in the Big Y Education Express Program. Big Y reserves the right to determine the validity of each educational institution that is enrolling for participation in the program.
- How can I redeem my leftover points from the previous program?
You cannot redeem points from the previous program. The points have expired and that program has been closed.
- How can I obtain more shopper enrollment forms?
Call 1-800-599-9017 and more will be shipped out. Please note that you can make copies of the form.
- How does a school order merchandise with their Education Express points?
Schools have been provided a catalog and order form with their start up kit. The coordinator works with the principal and faculty to determine what items to purchase. The coordinator then fills out the order form and mails it to the Education Express headquarters or goes online and places an order.
- When can schools start redeeming points?
As soon as schools have acquired enough points for the merchandise they would like. It is up to the school coordinator/principal to redeem points.
- What happens after our school gets signed up in the program?
A start up kit with everything needed to administer the program at your school will be sent within a week. The school will then need to distribute the enrollment forms to the parents and let them know what the 4-digit ID number is. Watch your point totals grow through the updates and work with faculty to place orders.
- Is there a cost to the school to participate in the program?
No. Everything is free to the school, shipping included.
- Can I purchase an item with cash?
All merchandise must be purchased with Education Express Award Points. Cash cannot be accepted for merchandise. Award points cannot be redeemed for cash.
