

Alaskan Dungeness Crab has a sweet, delicate and somewhat nutty flavor. More tender than Maine Lobster, Dungeness is the premier variety of crab.
Fully-cooked and flash frozen at sea, these crabs are ready to heat and eat!
The largest producing states are California, Washington followed by Alaska. Only males with minimum shell size of 6 1/2 inches are harvested commercially; market size average is 1 1/2 to 3 lbs.
Taste & Texture:
The taste is sweet, flavorful and semi nutty. Their flesh is very white with a delicate texture. Some compare the crab meat to that of a Maine Lobster, but more tender.
Selection & Handling:
Market forms include pre-cooked whole, dressed sections and picked meat. In our market area most of these crabs are purchase whole cooked.
You Should Know:
Dungeness set the stage for world standards for premium crab on the west cost, they are called San Francisco crabs. Many enjoy these crabs with sourdough bread and ice-cold beer or wine.
Can be served chilled or reheated by steaming.
