Sometimes referred to as "the worlds most widely used herb," Cilantros hardy flavor makes it a favorite of Latin, Oriental, Indian & Caribbean cooking. Cilantro is also known as Mexican Parsley or Chinese Parsley. Also, referring to the seed alone, Coriander (KOR-ee-an-der). Fresh Cilantro from Melissas can often be found on many distinctly flavored menus. Melissas Cilantro has dark green, lacy leaves. Extremely aromatic, it can be used in salsa, guacamole, mixed green salads and curried dishes. Cilantro seeds are used in pickling, potpourri and mulled wine.

Selection & Storage: Melissas Fresh Herbs are hand selected for excellent quality. Choose fresh looking Cilantro with even color and an aromatic scent. Avoid any yellow spots & wilted stems or leaves. Use soon after purchasing. To keep fresh, refrigerate in a plastic bag filled with air and securely closed. Store in the vegetable crisper section of the refrigerator. If leaves do become wilted, an ice water bath can revive them. Place Cilantro stem side down in a jar of water (similar to fresh flowers) and cover with a tightly closed plastic bag. Store away from natural ripening fruits vegetables like tomatoes, bananas & peppers.
Display: Create a display using a large variety of Fresh Herbs from Melissas including Arrugala, Bay Leaves, Chives, and Mint. Also, display with Italian parsley or parsley.
Preparation: Leaves should be thoroughly washed and dried before using.
