Flowers add a festive touch to any party's dcor. With the abundance of fresh blooms available during summer, it's the perfect time to use some flower power to spruce up your party space. Some things to keep in mind:
Consider the scents of the flowers you'd like to use. Strong-smelling flowers aren't a good choice because they will compete with the aroma of the food. Lilies, gardenias, etc., while beautiful and hardy, make better choices for entranceways or other areas where food won't be present. If you're concerned about how strong the perfume from your centerpiece might be, step about ten feet away from it. If you can smell it from there, it's too strong.
Remember also that people like to be able to see across the table to the folks they're sitting with. Either keep centerpieces low enough for your guests to be able to see right over them or make them tall enough to see below them.
