Take This to Heart

Women and Heart Disease

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death of women over age 65. It kills nearly twice as many women in the United States than all types of cancer combined. However, only 21 percent of women think heart disease is a threat to their health.

That is why the American Heart Association has created Go Red For Women. It is a movement passionately dedicated to helping women fight back against heart disease by educating them about their risks and helping them to find their own personal path to better health for life.

Here are some fun and inspiring ways for you to show your support.

Nationwide February 6, National Wear Red Day
Join with thousands of women, companies and organizations and cities across America by wearing red and making a donation. You’ll help the American Heart Association support ongoing research and education about women and heart disease.
