Big Y's Partners of Hope - Big Y® World Class Market®

For the entire month of October, Big Y and its partners have banded together to help raise money and awareness to help fight breast cancer. To kick off the month’s worth of special promotions and help raise awareness and support, many of our employees will be wearing pink for the first weekend. You’ll be able to find special displays and specially marked products all throughout the store; every “pink” product is one that will help you contribute to the cause. Here are some of the special promotions you’ll find throughout your Big Y during Breast Cancer Awareness Month:

• From October 1 through October 28, visit any Big Y store and purchase your Partners of Hope pink ribbon for $1. Proceeds will benefit the Massachusetts and Connecticut Affiliates of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.®

• When you purchase a Partners of Hope ribbon from October 1 through October 7, you’ll receive coupons worth a savings of $2.75 from Procter and Gamble.

• Give five for a cure! Big Y will donate five cents to breast cancer research
for every package of Big Y,® Top Care,® Full Circle,™ World Classics Trading Company,® PAWS Premium,™ Academix, Electrix, Easyclix and Domestix brand products* purchased between October 15 and October 21.

• Look throughout the store for products with special pink packaging — their manufacturers will be donating a portion of their proceeds to breast cancer research.

• For the entire month of October, Big Y will donate a portion of the proceeds
from sales in the Floral and Produce Departments to the Massachusetts
and Connecticut Affiliates of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

• Big Y’s resident dietitian, Carrie Taylor, will devote a portion of her October newsletter to breast cancer.
Look for it on the Living Well Eating Smart displays throughout the store.

• Raise awareness for two important causes by carrying
one simple bag. During October, look for our pink reusable, Earth-friendly shopping bags.

• The Big Y Meat Department will donate ten cents
from every pound of Naturewell® and Smart Chicken® products to Komen for the duration of the month of October.

• For every new or transferred prescription filled at a Big Y Pharmacy, we will donate $5.00 toward breast cancer research (to a maximum of $5,000.00).

Big Y’s Partners of Hope program raises much-needed funds for breast cancer research. Over the past two years, Partners of Hope has raised a total of $160,000 for the Connecticut and Massachusetts Affiliates of Susan G. Komen
