Enjoy the warmth and atmosphere these lovely wreaths bring to your home. Your home-made Living Wreath can be hung on fences, walls, and doors.
What you'll need:
- concave wire wreath form
- floral pins
- moist soil (mixture of potting soil and slow release fertilizer)
- fresh moss (if dry moss is used soak prior to use).
- 2.75" potted plants (the number of plants will depend on the size of your wreath).
Step 1:
Lay moss inside the ring. Pull the moss over the sides of the wire-form wreath. Leave front open to pack in soil.
Step 2:
Pack in as much moist soil as possible. Pack it hard to prevent water from loosening the soil and seeping out.
Step 3:
Remove plants from pots, spread out roots and place plants about 5" apart around the wreath. (This allows for roots to spread without over-crowding.)
Step 4:
Pull moss tightly around the plants and pin in place with floral pins.
Step 5:
Wrap the wreath with wire or fishing line. (Fishing line is great for outdoor wreaths because it will not rust.)
Step 6:
Fill in any gaps with additional moss, loose dried flowers and ornaments of your choice. Secure with floral pins.
