July is Sun Safety Month!
Keep you and your baby safe by following these simple tips:
- Avoid direct sunlight between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and seek shade whenever possible.
- Apply a sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or greater for adults and 30 or greater for children (over 6 months of age) and reapply after swimming.
- Wear light colored clothing, a wide brimmed hat and sunglasses when outdoors.
- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water or low-sugar beverages, and make sure your baby is hydrated as well! He or she may need more breast milk or formula in the warmer months.
